Bless Your Enemies

Image
This morning as Mum and I were leaving home for some work (and later some shopping), I was at a small turn going slowly, when a motorcyclist came suddenly and hit my car. He lost his balance and fell on the road. Though, no harm was done to me or my car. He’d been speeding and before he could control his speed, he’d hit my car. I rolled my window down and began giving him a piece of my mind, telling him that he’d been speeding so much that he couldn’t even control his bike anymore and he fell. While the biker didn’t say much, an onlooker came on and started to pelt insults at me. He’d no business in the accident, but seemed intent on insulting me nonetheless. My Mum kept on trying to calm me down as I replied to this onlooker telling him that it was the biker’s fault. He insisted that it was mine and the biker was fine. The biker himself had nothing to say; he simply picked up his bike and went off the scene as soon as he could. I also got my car up again and continued. No. The story d...

With Love ...

Mum told me to prepare the chapattis (Indian bread) again for dinner. I don’t really like doing that; it means standing till the last chapatti is done, exercising your hands vigorously, and in summers sweating as though you’re in the shower (though it’s winters now, but that doesn’t make it any better). As I started to do it, I found some chapattis in the breadbox probably left over from the afternoon meal. There was also some parantha (deep fried chapatti) wrapped in a foil. I asked her about these and she told me to take out the chapattis and keep the parantha. I asked her if she wanted to have it, but she declined saying it was too late for having a parantha (at dinner, as it was deep fried). My interest in that question was that if she was going to have the parantha, then it means I would have to make a couple of chapattis less (yes, that’s mean!). I muttered to myself, ‘She don’t want to throw it; she don’t want to eat it. She just wants to keep it because it looks bad throwing aw...

Love of Jesus

Image
If I try to visualize it, I'm limited by what I see. If I try to think it out then, Imagination limits me. Indescribable, unimaginable, Nothing compares to Your love Nothing compares, nothing compares, Nothing compares to Your love, O Jesus, Nothing compares, nothing at all, Nothing compares to Your love Though I want to comprehend it, My understanding is too small. When I try to talk about it, My words can never show it all. Incomprehensible, unexplainable, Nothing compares to Your love Oh! Your love is everlasting, It gives me life abundantly. Lord, Your love is never-changing, I'll love forever You only. Never-ending, and enduring, Nothing compares to Your love 'Twas the best thing happ'nd to me, Oh! when I fell in love with Thee. I don't even have to earn it, You love me unconditionally. Oh so precious, freely given, Nothing compares to Your love [21/12/10] It was the best Christmas gift I got this year. My Lord gifted me a song that my heart is just SO happy w...

Exceedingly & Abundantly

Image
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think , according to the power that worketh in us , 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen Ephesians 3:20 As I proclaimed this verse in prayer, a picture arose in my front of my closed eyes. God Holy Spirit, in His own unique way, showed me what He meant by this verse. I spoke ' exceedingly ' and saw someone lift up, cupping both their hands, something off the ground. I spoke ' abundantly ' and saw him spread his arms out wide. 'Exceeding' means increasing beyond expectation. Abundant means more than sufficient. Yes, God is able to do such feats as this - beyond our highest expectation and more than what we'd ever need. Not only He's able to do it, He's done it already in Jesus Christ, and thru Him on the cross. Exceedingly Abundant was the sacrifice on the cross. Exceedingly Abundant is His grace. Exceedingly A...

By the Pool of Bethsaida

Image
1 After this there was a Jewish feast, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool called Bethzatha in Aramaic, which has five covered walkways. 3 A great number of sick, blind, lame, and paralyzed people were lying in these walkways. 4 For an angel  went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had 5 Now a man was there who had been disabled for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and when he realized that the man had been disabled a long time already, he said to him, “Do you want to become well?” 7 The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am trying to get into the water, someone else goes down there before me.” 8 Jesus said to him, “Stand up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9 Immediately the man was healed, and he picked up ...

Visit to an Old Fort

Image
Recently, I took myself a vacation and went to Jaipur. The Amer Fort in Jaipur is one of the highlights in the city. It belongs to the Mughal era in India and was built by Mansingh, the then ruler of the city. The tour guide told us that Jaipur was built a strong fort in anticipation of any wars that may take place, but has retained its beauty as Jaipur was never attacked. There are many doors and many courts. The king had many queens and each had a quarter of her own inside the palace. There was a court of commons and a court for lords of the city. The daughter of this family was married into the Muhgal family to one of the Mughal kings, Akbar, therefore the detailing and design intricacies include patterns suited to both cultures. In some places, the colors are still very rich and beautiful. There was even a bed, an original bed hundreds of years old, that once belonged to the queen who sat on the throne. Now, it was in tatters, held up by some stones. [You can view some pictures fro...

Ten Commandments

Image
A few months back, I’d put in an entry in this journal about breaking down and building up. The Lord is faithful to His promise, as ever, and ever since His work is in progress in my life. During this time, He has taken me through many turns, slope-downs, steep-ups, plateaus and peaks. Every time I learned something about me, something about the conditions, and most preciously, something about Him. That third part was actually the best part of the deal. During these wonderful pathways, the following road signs came up. Mostly, dealing with me, in my areas of improvements. Beautiful insights all of them; and each brought to me wrapped in the most mysterious ways. Here they are for your reference. If you happen to pass by them, you’ll know He’s dealing with you as lovingly as He did with me. (Warning: He does chastise the child He loves. Expect it!) 1. Thou shalt not judge. 2. Thou shalt not condemn. (The first two includes me too; I’m not to judge or condemn myself; it includes hitting...
